About Span Training
Who We Are
Span Training and Development Ltd. is a leading Government funded training provider operating in the south of England. We have a large contract with the Education and Skills Funding Agency and currently work with more than 380 learners in over 140 workplaces in the UK. We have been a leader in hairdressing for over 30 years and helped to establish the original NVQ level 3.
We are a family business and proud members of The Fellowship for British Hairdressing. Our Ofsted “Grade Two – Good” was achieved in February 2011 and again in June 2014.
What We Do
Since 1983 Span has delivered Employer and Trainee focused Government funded training programmes that are designed and delivered to a bespoke specification per employer and learner. All elements of our service focus on individual needs, high quality customer service and regional demands, along with Ofsted, awarding body and ESFA requirements. All our processes from recruitment through to qualification achievement follow high quality system processes and quality assurance checks, whilst also looking after the learner, at every stage. Span prides it’s self on it’s professionalism and care in all that we do.

We tend to demonstrate as an organisations and individual, beliefs and values that maximise the individual contribution to corporate success by being customer centred.
Also, we enable our clients to succeed by developing strategies and improving skills that will help their organisation to continually enhance their relationships with customers, suppliers and employees.

Quality
Span Training has been offering high quality training solutions to a diverse range of companies. We are constantly putting our efforts into improving our training and development products. We believe in an integrated approach to training incorporating management, supervisory and work force solutions. We can provide you with learner progression and achievement, success rates, assessor grading and other important information on your performance.
Funding
Span is funded by the government through the ESFA – Education and Skills Funding Agency to provide Apprenticeships for young people. We can secure enough funds to continue bringing our high quality service to increased numbers of learners in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire bordering counties. Through subsidies and your own input are able to offer low cost and in many cases free training to our partners.
Safeguarding
Span Training and Development Ltd. fully recognises the relevance and importance of Every Child Matters (ECM) and in particular Safeguarding in relation to our role with the young people who are on our programme and are employed in their work placements.
We also recognise that all Span employees and the Employers we work with have a full and active part to play in the 5 key areas embraced by ECM. Children are defined as being young people or children less than 18 years of age. In this document children engaged in the Span Programme less than 18 years of age will be referred to as Young People.
